STOLEN MATON CW80 ACOUSTIC GUITAR  

C.W.80  Serial No. 2257 1176

• leading to the apprehension of the thief or thieves 

of Chris' Maton CW80 guitar which was stolen from his home in Marsden, Queensland on or between 4 - 11 June, 2008.

The hard case, black vinyl finish, has the words "JUST STRINGS" on the face.  It also has a couple of broken hinges.

The obvious suspects have denied any knowledge of the theft.  They also helped themselves to a Belkin digital tuner, a Nokia Mobile phone and charger and a 2nd hand HP lap-top computer.  

If the perpetrators want to return the stolen possessions they are welcome to call me 0411875050 so we can arrange a place and time.

The guitar has been owned and loved by Chris for over 30 years.  You can see by the condition of this guitar that it has been well cared for.  It's survived gigs in wine bars, seen many hours of teaching and many many hours just being played and enjoyed by Chris and his family.  A part of him has been ripped away.  This heartless and selfish theft has caused considerable grief - like the loss of a loved one. 

A message to the thief or thieves -

• By stealing this instrument you have demonstrated that you are not a lover of music and its honourable history and community spirit.  True musicians understand the affection players have for their instruments and have respect for other musicians and their possessions.
• How can you return home to this beautiful guitar each day and look at yourself in the mirror with any sense of pride. 
• You will return to your guilt today and every day, yes daily, and your guilt will eat away at your very existence for the rest of your life.   Guilt is a heavy burden to carry for life - it causes dis-ease and many health problems.  Are you willing to carry that burden for life - to return to the sense of guilt every day.
• Every time you return to play this instrument you are reminding yourself of you own worthlessness.
• What lies have you told your family and friends to explain your return home with these items 
• You will feel the heavy, heavy weight of guilt bearing down on you every time you return to touch these possessions or anything you may have acquired in exchange for them
• Return them to free yourself and be able to feel honourable and free.
